Public Charter School Facilities Funding Program
Established during the 2026 legislative session, Ch. 767 (HB1430) is intended to provide funding for lease and mortgage costs and capital improvements, based on a specified amount of funding per student, for each qualifying public charter school in Maryland.
Funding is mandated to begin in Fiscal Year 2028 and no appropriations have been made to date.
The IAC will publish procedures for the program in 2027 and distribute them to Maryland’s public charter schools.
