Air Conditioning Initiative

The FY 2014 ACI was intended to provide $25 million in grants for air conditioning in schools that lack central air in educational spaces.

Innovation Incentive Pilot Program

Intended to provide incentives to encourage public school systems to pursue innovative public school facility construction projects. Limited to Harford, Prince George's, and Washington counties.

Supplemental Appropriations

In FY 2012 the Governor and the General Assembly dedicated supplemental funding of $47.5 million to school construction projects.

Energy Efficiency Initiative

The FY 2013 EEI was intended to improve the energy efficiency of schools and allocated $25 million to various projects.

Security Initiative

The FY 2014 SI consisted of $25 million in PAYGO funding intended to improve the safety and security of students in Maryland's public schools through capital investments.

Qualified Zone Academy Bond

This is a tax credit bond program funded through the federal budget which provides a course of funding for renovating schools, purchasing equipment, and other eligible expenditures that meet certain criteria.
